Plaited head band 1935.32.0183
Band plaited into a diagonal lozenge pattern.
This band is a combination of diagonally woven and plaited woollen yarn. Groups of eight different colours with 40 threads each are closely plaited into warp-faced repp. These groups are interspersed with yellow groups of threads, in threes. The yellow threads create a diagonal pattern when they divide up the other colours. All the threads are very tightly twisted, which gives a dense, compact quality.
