This may possibly be the middle part of a mantle.
The embroidered figures are in various combination of colour, all with red outlines. They have been construed as birds.
Material and technique
Embroidered in woollen yarn on a plain-woven woollen fabric. The embroidery is in stem-stitch in colour-field style.
