Small mantle with birds 1935.32.0195
The border is embroidered with a multicoloured bird. All their heads point in the same direction, but alternate birds are reversed.
Material and technique
Embroidered in woollen yarn on plain-woven woollen fabric. The border is woven with cotton and the middle part is woollen fabric. The embroidery is in stem-stitch in colour-field style.

Paracas Necropolis, Intermedio Temprano 1B-2 (c. 100 BC – 200 AD)
