Fish poncho 1935.32.0182

A creature resembling a fish but with a human-looking arm. The figure is embroidered in rows on the border and in squares on the rest of the poncho, which has motifs the same colour in diagonal rows. The poncho matches the turban item no. 1935.32.0191 in the same showcase.

Material and technique

Embroidered with woollen yarn on plain-woven fabric. The embroidery is stem-stitch in linear style. The borders are woven in cotton and the poncho itself with woollen yarn.
